A recent study by Experian CheetahMail displays the results of promotional emails over the major US holidays, and reflects the transaction rates per holiday.
Top Holiday Email Campaign Transactions Rates
Coming in on the top is a shocker.... Memorial Day leads the way for highest Transaction Rate... even ahead of Cyber Monday. Memorial Day had a transaction rate of 0.31%, much higher than the standard industry rate at that time which is under 0.10%.
The report states that Memorial Day has a higher level of pre-holiday browsing and that transactions peak one week prior and on the holiday itself. Cyber Monday was second at 0.26%. Halloween is truly a time of scaring, as emails tend to do worse during that holiday time than Industry benchmark.

Memorial Day Best Email Campaign Day, but Why?
So why is Memorial Day the best time for email campaigns to work? Maybe it is because schools ending, families are getting together, and planning out their summer festivities... Tax Rebate money is still somewhat there and they are planning to spend? The weather is getting nice? Who knows... it also could be related to the types of products and services being promoted heavily during that time, and the lack of competition of other holidays/events taking away. What do you think? Do you agree with this chart?
